Baroque & Blues on the Waterfront

The annual Art of Giving Baroque and Blues concert will be held from 5:30 – 7 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Trinity-by-the-Cove, 553 Galleon Drive, Naples.

The event will feature Lew Del Gatto, tenor saxophone and Leroy Jones, trumpet, along with the strings from Napes Philharmonic under the direction of Concertmaster Glenn Basham.

Del Gatto may be best known for performing on Saturday Night Live from 1975 to 1979, but also as played in soundtracks for dozens of TV shows and movies including the Original Blue Brothers movie.

Jones is a jazz trumpeter from New Orleans, where he frequently appears with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. He played with a number of bands, including the big band of Harry Connick, Jr. He released his own album in 1994 and continues to tour around the country.

Hosted by the 2020 Archangel Fund for Collier County Charities, the event supports grants for a eleven Collier County charities that provide mental health services, social services and other assistance.  Through this year’s grants almost 7,000 children and adults in need in our community will find help. Supporting charities from the Shelter for Abused Women and Children to Guadalupe Learning Center, the 90,000 in planned grants are targeted to empower charities to make a difference.
